Our Blanc de Noirs 2024 represents an exciting opportunity to draw on the experience and inspiration gained while working with a grower Champagne house, applying those learnings to craft a truly distinctive English cuvée.
Crafted at our Cambridgeshire family winery, fewer than 600 bottles of our 2024 Blanc de Noirs have been made, making it a genuinely rare and personal release. The Pinot Noir grapes from one of our partner vineyards in Herefordshire, are gently pressed to release only the finest white juice.
Made using the traditional method, our Extra Brut, Blanc de Noirs opens with subtle aromas of wild strawberry, red currant, and lemon zest, layered over hints of toasted brioche, almond, and crushed stone. The palate is incisive and bone-dry, driven by vibrant acidity that carries flavors of tart raspberry, and citrus peel. Fine, persistent bubbles lend a creamy yet focused texture, while underlying notes of hazelnut and a faint savory edge add depth. The finish is long, clean, and mineral, leaving impressions of saline, chalk, and a whisper of toast. A precise, structured sparkling wine with both energy and quiet complexity.
For food pairings, think oysters or lightly seared scallops, Classic fish dishes like grilled sea bass or lemon sole also work beautifully. It’s also excellent with fried or rich foods, because the dryness cuts through fat; roast chicken, duck breast, or pork tenderloin. The subtle red-fruit character of a Blanc de Noirs complements these without overwhelming them.
